格莱美奖颁奖典礼是每年音乐届备受瞩目的音乐奖项之一，也是在美国跟奥斯卡金像奖、托尼奖和艾美奖并称的美国四大娱乐奖项之一;而这个音乐奖项并不仅仅只有综合类的如年度最佳单曲、最佳专辑等奖项，奖项覆盖范围较广，不仅包含乡村、爵士、摇滚、流行、拉丁等多种音乐风格，同时还会给表现优秀的音乐新人、制作人等人群颁发相应的奖杯，同时还有部分特别奖，比如说颁发给较具影响力和权威性人士的格莱美终身成就奖，入选格莱美名人堂等等。
这个从1959年5月4日开始举办的音乐大奖，至今已经举办了66届，而这个有着数十年发展里程的奖项每次评选都会遵守严格的制度和程序来确保评选的公正性，同时每年的颁奖典礼上还会有众多欧美的明星大腕上台表演，十分具有观赏性。
举办的66届格莱美中，年度最佳歌曲中，爱尔兰乐队U2、阿黛尔、Roberta Flack分别获得过两次年度歌曲大奖。此外，爱尔兰乐队U2不仅获得的年度最佳歌曲奖最多，还多次捧得年度最佳摇滚乐队奖，从70年代组团至今，捧得22座格莱美奖，并且还被选入摇滚名人堂。而阿黛尔也毫不逊色，《Rolling In The Deep》、《Hello》两首分别获得第54和第59届格莱美奖的最佳年度歌曲，除此之外，还额外捧得格莱美的年度专辑、最佳流行女歌手、最佳新人奖等14座奖杯。
